Mr. Mol grew up knowing all the privileges that being born in a wealthy family brings. His father, Jan Mol, founded a software company Volmac in 1966. It achieved great success, and Mol senior made his fortune by selling it to CAP Gemini in ’82.
After acquiring a degree in Computer Sciences at Leiden University, young Mol decided to follow his father’s footsteps and, with some friends, started a software company Lost Boys. Initially, they were creating software for the CD-ROM market, and as the years passed, expanded their business and entered the software and gaming world.
As the money accumulated, Michiel developed an interest in investing in other fields as well.
